Dentures - Complete, Partial and Custom Medford, OR
Missing teeth can lead to a number of other dental health problems. We can replace your missing teeth, and restore your bite with the placement of customized partial dentures and full dentures. Our team, including Dr. Taucher and Dr. Burnham, at Rogue Valley Dental Center can increase your function, the foods you can eat, your overall oral health, and your look. It all begins with an evaluation. We will work with you to develop a treatment plan that suits you, your health, and your finances.
Partial Dentures
Partial dentures are a removable dental prosthesis that is attached using clasps. We are able to replace few or many of your missing teeth with a partial denture that is customized to your mouth. A partial denture is similar to a dental bridge, with some distinct differences. A dental bridge uses healthy teeth, or implant posts, to serve as anchors. We can then permanently adhere the bridge in place replacing your missing teeth. A partial offers some variations in how it is clasped in place. Partials are removable, allowing the patient to remove it for cleaning.
Patients who seek partial dentures choose them for a variety of reasons including:
• |
Partials are generally a less expensive option than other tooth replacement options. |
• |
Partials are a less invasive option for patients who have medical issues that require otherwise less invasive work. |
• |
Partials are easy to keep clean. Some patients appreciate being able to remove them and clean them outside of their mouths. |
• |
Partials provide the replacement of missing teeth needed. |
• |
Partials can slow the absorption of bone, helping the patient maintain healthy bone levels after losing teeth. |
• |
Partials can help fill the patient’ |
• |
s facial structure, which may have sunken, after the loss of teeth. |
• |
Partials can help a patient eat a larger variety of food that they were unable to eat due to the loss of teeth. |
Full Dentures
Full dentures are for the replacement of all of the patients teeth in either the top arch, the bottom arch, or in both arches. There are various ways the patient can have their dentures retained, the most simple being with suction or over the counter adhesives. Dr. Taucher and Dr. Burnham are happy to discuss other retention options that can vastly increase comfort and the variety of foods that the patient is able to eat. With the placement of implants, we can help your denture stay put permanently.
Patients who seek full dentures choose them for a very specific reason. They no longer have any healthy teeth remaining. Missing all of your teeth is difficult for eating, for speaking, and can dramatically decrease your self confidence. We can help find the right option for you and teach you about dental implants vs dentures.
Let us evaluate your dental health, the status of your teeth, and we will then be happy to review your options, and discuss a treatment plan, which may include a partial or full denture.
